The nautical and metereological conditions are particulary favorable for the navigation ( mild weather and non-exiztent fog and tides).
The port has a water surface of 1.600.000m² and has a land surface aera of over 2.500.000m².
Every year approximately 5000 ships belonging to 200 shipping companies pass trought the port.
